Uploading Your Menu to POS Connect

Adding your menu to POS Connect is simple using our CSV import tool. This allows you to upload multiple menu items quickly without entering them manually.

Before You Begin

Before importing your menu, please make sure your branch has already been created in the system.

If your branch has not yet been set up, create it first before continuing.


How to Upload Your Menu

Step 1: Go to the Menu Section

After creating your branch:

  1. Log in to your POS Connect dashboard

  2. Go to the Menu tab

  3. Select Import / Export


Step 2: Select Your CSV File

On the import screen:

  1. Click Browse

  2. Select your menu CSV file

  3. Prepare it for upload

Import Options Explained

When uploading your CSV file, you will have two useful options available.

Update Existing Items

If you tick this option:

  • Existing items with matching names will be updated

  • Items will not be skipped if they already exist

  • This is useful when making changes to menu items already in your system

Use this option if you want to update:

  • Item names

  • Prices

  • Descriptions

  • Categories

  • Other menu details

Create Missing Categories

If you tick this option:

  • Any categories included in your CSV that do not already exist will be created automatically

  • New categories will be assigned to the "Other" receipt group

This is especially helpful if your CSV contains new categories that have not yet been added manually.


Step 3: Import Your Menu

Once your file is selected and your options are chosen:

  1. Click the Import button

  2. Wait for the upload to finish

  3. Review your imported menu items to confirm everything has been added correctly


Best Practice Tips

To avoid import issues, we recommend the following:

  • Use the official CSV template

  • Check that all item names are entered correctly

  • Review pricing and category information before uploading

  • If updating existing items, ensure item names match your current menu exactly
