How Subscriptions and Plan Limits Work

Recommended for: Owners Time to complete: 5 to 10 minutes

Your subscription plan controls which features your business can use and may also set limits on branches, EPOS devices, staff, menu items, or monthly order volume.

What a Plan Usually Controls

Depending on your subscription, your plan may affect:

  • access to EPOS

  • access to online ordering features

  • access to reports or exports

  • how many branches you can run

  • how many devices can be active

  • how many orders or menu items are included

Boolean Features vs Limits

There are two common types of plan rules:

  • feature access: a feature is either included or not included

  • numeric limits: you can use the feature, but only up to a set amount

What Happens When You Reach a Limit

If you hit a limit, you may find that:

  • a new device cannot be registered

  • a new branch cannot be added

  • a feature is locked

  • you need to upgrade before continuing

Best Practice for Owners

  • Review your plan before adding new sites or devices.

  • Check limits before a rollout or busy period.

  • If you are about to expand, upgrade first rather than after service is interrupted.

Typical Questions to Ask

  • How many branches are included?

  • How many EPOS devices can be active?

  • Are reporting and export tools included?

  • Are there limits on menu items or staff accounts?
